Prime Minister Convenes Urgent CCI Meeting Today on Sindh’s Request to Resolve Canal Dispute

Islamabad:Responding to a formal request by the Sindh government, **Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif** has called an **emergency meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI)** today in Islamabad. The meeting, originally scheduled for **May 2**, has been **rescheduled to this evening** to urgently address the **canal water distribution issue**.

**Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon** confirmed the development and said that the meeting will focus on **resolving the canal dispute**, which has triggered widespread protests across Sindh in recent days.

Memon also stated that **Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah** will attend the meeting and that a **solution will be pursued through dialogue between PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Prime Minister**.

He emphasized the **importance of today’s CCI session**, calling it a crucial step towards a **fair resolution of water-sharing concerns** among provinces.
