‘Uraan-e-Pakistan’ Marks Visionary Shift Towards Balochistan’s Sustainable Development: Senior Minister Zahoor Buledi

QUETTA:Balochistan’s Senior Minister for Planning and Development, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, has hailed the federal government’s “Uraan-e-Pakistan” initiative and Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s recent visit to Quetta as a practical and visionary step toward the province’s long-term development.

Calling it a strategic roadmap rather than a hollow slogan, Buledi emphasized that the program is rooted in actionable plans, strong intent, and a clear vision aimed at empowering Balochistan through **economic autonomy, good governance, and sustainable progress**.

He praised Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s genuine commitment to aligning federal efforts with Balochistan’s developmental priorities, stating that it reflects a new era where the federal government views Balochistan as a central component of national development.

“Uraan-e-Pakistan” can serve as the foundation for transforming Balochistan into a **well-integrated, future-oriented province**, Buledi said. He further highlighted recent reforms made by the Balochistan Planning and Development Department, which have begun delivering tangible results.

Key initiatives include:

– **Transparent and merit-based fund utilization**
– **Approval of the Export Development Board** to promote Balochistan’s role in national exports
– **Operationalization of Special Industrial Zones**, previously confined to paper
– **Scholarship programs** enabling students from 12 underprivileged districts to access national educational institutions
– **Completion of projects like the Kachhi Canal**, aimed at driving agricultural prosperity

Buledi stressed that Balochistan is no longer relying on temporary relief or ad hoc interventions. Instead, it is transitioning toward a **balanced development model** based on long-term planning and **public-private partnerships**. He welcomed the federal government’s cooperation and expressed confidence that its benefits would reach the common citizens of the province.

“’Uraan-e-Pakistan’ is not just a slogan for Balochistan,” he said, “it’s a vision that will enable us to become self-reliant and dignified in areas like economy, industry, education, and employment.”
