Significant Increase in Oil and Gas Reserves Recorded in Pakistan for the First Time Since 2020

Islamabad – In a major development in Pakistan’s energy sector, the country has recorded a significant increase in its oil and gas reserves for the first time since 2020. According to official sources, this progress has been made possible with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which has played a key role in boosting local investment and exploration efforts.
The report reveals that oil reserves have increased from 193 million barrels to 238 million barrels. This growth reflects the government’s renewed focus on reducing energy imports and addressing the ongoing energy shortage through the development of local resources.
Efforts are underway to further improve the energy outlook of the country, with the assistance of SIFC acting as a catalyst in facilitating major energy projects. The government believes that enhancing indigenous production will pave the way for long-term energy sustainability and economic stability.
The latest data is seen as a promising sign for Pakistan’s energy future and a step towards self-reliance in the sector.
