Balochistan Government Committed to Eradicating Drugs and Promoting Healthy Activities Among Youth

Quetta:Provincial Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs, Meena Majid Baloch, emphasized that the fight against drugs is not just the responsibility of government institutions but also a collective duty of every individual in society. She praised the effective actions taken by the district administration and law enforcement agencies in curbing the cultivation of poppy plants and combating drug trafficking across the province, calling them “commendable and significant.”

Speaking about the efforts to eliminate poppy cultivation, Meena Majid Baloch appreciated the substantial and impactful operations being carried out in some regions of Balochistan. She urged farmers to refrain from planting crops that lead to social stagnation and harm society, adding that such practices are prohibited in Islam and should not be tolerated.

“Drugs are a curse that destroys the mental, physical, and educational capacities of our youth, depriving them of a bright future,” Baloch stated. She stressed that keeping young people away from the dangers of drugs should be a top priority for everyone, including parents, teachers, religious scholars, the media, and civil society.

The provincial advisor further highlighted the importance of sports in keeping youth away from negative trends, noting that sports not only enhance physical health but also help to keep young people engaged in positive and productive activities.

She mentioned various awareness campaigns and programs organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, stating that the government is doing everything possible to steer youth toward healthy, constructive pursuits. Meena Majid Baloch appealed to young people to protect themselves from the dangers of drugs, engage in positive activities, and prioritize unity, cooperation, and healthy lifestyles. She urged them to excel in educational and creative fields, bringing pride to their country and community.

Expressing her determination, she assured that the Balochistan government will continue its strict crackdown on drug dealers and will also implement a comprehensive strategy for the rehabilitation of drug addicts to build a cleaner, healthier, and more aware society.
