JUI-F Questions PTI’s Alleged Backdoor Contacts with Establishment: Senator Kamran Murtaza Raises Concerns

ISLAMABAD:Senior Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leader **Senator Kamran Murtaza** has raised serious concerns over **PTI’s alleged backdoor communications with the military establishment**, calling for clarity from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership.
Speaking on **Geo News’** program *Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath*, Senator Kamran Murtaza stated that **his party harbors reservations** about PTI’s contacts with the establishment, especially while discussions about a political alliance are underway.
> “PTI Senator Dr. Humayun Mohmand reached out to us and denied these reports, but we expect **Asad Qaiser** to issue a clear clarification,” Murtaza emphasized.

### ❗Dual Strategy Raises Red Flags
The JUI-F senator criticized what he described as PTI’s **”double approach”** — simultaneously pursuing an alliance with opposition parties while allegedly attempting to engage with the establishment.
> “If PTI wants both – an alliance with us and ties with the establishment – we strongly object. If this continues, the opposition alliance could fall apart,” he warned.
Kamran Murtaza further stated that **JUI-F would consider stepping back** from the opposition alliance if PTI continues down this path, even if the communications are not formal or direct.

### 📌 Context: Imran Khan’s Confirmation of Contacts
These remarks follow **Imran Khan’s recent admission** that he had directed senior PTI leader **Azam Swati** to initiate talks with the military establishment.
During a meeting at **Adiala Jail** with party leaders and lawyers, the former prime minister clarified that these talks were **not about his legal troubles**, but were intended **”for the sake of Pakistan.”**

### 🔍 Growing Tensions Within Opposition Ranks
These developments point to **growing unease among opposition parties** that are in talks about a broader anti-government alliance. While internal communication between PTI and the establishment isn’t new, **public confirmation and political optics** have become critical concerns.
The future of a unified opposition bloc could hinge on how PTI addresses these concerns and whether it can maintain trust among its potential political partners — particularly **JUI-F**, which has historically taken a strong stance on civil-military relations.
