Governor Balochistan Jaafar Khan Mandokhail Highlights Importance of Economic Partnership with Russia

Karachi:Governor of Balochistan, Jaafar Khan Mandokhail, emphasized the significance of the evolving political and economic landscape of the world, noting that the growing economic partnership between Pakistan and Russia marks a pivotal moment for shared development. Speaking at a luncheon hosted in his honor by Russian Consul General Mr. Andrey Fedorov at the Russian Consulate in Karachi, Mandokhail highlighted that the cooperation between the two countries could provide a solid economic foundation for peace, stability, and growth throughout the region.

“Considering the changing global dynamics, the economic partnership between Pakistan and Russia is crucial for our collective development,” Mandokhail said, adding that such cooperation could lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity and stability across the region. He stressed the importance of strengthening economic and academic ties between the two nations.

Governor Mandokhail also stated that the upcoming visit to Russia next week, accompanied by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Hashim Khan Galzai, and the Vice Chancellors of three major public sector universities in Balochistan – Lasbela University, University of Balochistan, and Loralai University – will focus on signing various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with these institutions. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would bring significant educational and developmental benefits to Balochistan.

Mandokhail further acknowledged Russia’s rich history of development, transitioning from a developing nation in Europe to a global superpower, and expressed the potential for Balochistan to benefit from Russia’s vast experience and expertise in various sectors. “Balochistan, with its unique geographical location, abundant natural resources, and precious minerals, is an important province. It holds tremendous potential in sectors such as higher education, minerals, agriculture, and livestock,” he noted.

He also emphasized the province’s attractiveness for investment and the opportunities for job creation and local economic empowerment. “By fostering new opportunities in construction and development, we can invigorate local economies and improve the overall quality of life for our people,” Mandokhail added.

The Governor highlighted the need for investment in technical and vocational education to equip Balochistan’s youth with modern skills for the workforce, stating that Russia’s technological expertise could play a vital role in this endeavor. He called for joint projects that would reduce poverty and unemployment, providing young people with opportunities to gain cutting-edge technical and professional skills.

In closing, Mandokhail stressed the importance of strengthening people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Russia, alongside the growing economic and educational collaboration. He believes that this partnership will not only solidify the bonds of friendship between the two nations but also promote a brighter future for future generations.

Earlier, Governor Mandokhail praised Russian Consul General Andrey Fedorov and his team for their warm welcome and hospitality, thanking them for organizing the luncheon in his honor.
