Astronomical Prediction for Eid ul-Adha 2025 Revealed

Dubai: Just a few days after Eid ul-Fitr, astronomers have already made predictions about the date of Eid ul-Adha. Experts from the United Arab Emirates have forecasted that Eid ul-Adha will fall on Friday, June 6, 2025.
According to the Emirates Astronomy Society, the crescent moon of Dhul-Hijjah is expected to be sighted on the evening of May 27. If this prediction holds true, the first day of Dhul-Hijjah will be on May 28 in the UAE.
The moon will rise at 7:02 AM (UAE time) and will be visible for about 38 minutes after sunset, increasing the chances of sighting the moon.
Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, stated that the dates for Eid will be determined based on the local moon sighting. According to the UAE government’s holiday calendar, the public holidays for Eid al-Adha and the Day of Arafat will be from 9 to 12 Dhul-Hijjah (1445 AH), offering a four-day break.
When Will Eid ul-Adha Be in Pakistan?
On the other hand, astronomers in Pakistan, based on preliminary moon sighting calculations, have predicted that Eid ul-Adha will likely fall on Saturday, June 7, 2025. However, the final date will be confirmed by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee once the moon of Dhul-Hijjah is sighted.
