Pakistan Express Narrowly Escapes Major Accident Near Pano Aqil

Rawalpindi:A major accident was narrowly avoided when the Pakistan Express, traveling from Rawalpindi to Karachi, skidded due to a broken gear on the second bogie. The incident occurred near Pano Aqil, as the gear on the undercarriage of the second bogie broke, causing the train to lose balance.
Upon noticing the situation, the train driver immediately applied the emergency brakes, successfully stopping the train before any serious incident occurred. According to railway sources, there was a risk of the train derailing due to the broken undercarriage and its wheels being misaligned.
Following the incident, the broken rod was removed, and the affected bogie was sent forward without brakes, with plans to repair it at Rohri Station. At Rohri, the necessary brake fittings will be completed to ensure the train’s safe continuation.
