State Bank of Pakistan Denies Claims of Not Issuing New Currency Notes

Karachi, Pakistan:The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has strongly denied claims that it is not issuing new banknotes, responding to widespread rumors. In a statement released on Tuesday, the central bank confirmed its longstanding practice of distributing new banknotes to commercial banks ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The SBP emphasized that this process is carried out through its extensive network of bank branches across the country to ensure public access to the new currency notes. According to the bank, it has already issued new notes worth 27 billion rupees in various denominations to 17,000 commercial bank branches nationwide for distribution to the public.
### Ensuring Smooth ATM Operations
Additionally, the State Bank reassured the public that steps are being taken to ensure uninterrupted ATM services during the holiday season, ensuring that high-quality currency notes are available. To further streamline the distribution process and maintain availability across all commercial bank branches, the SBP has deployed cash monitoring teams to conduct on-site inspections, ensuring that the new currency notes are distributed as intended.
The SBP’s efforts aim to facilitate the public’s access to fresh currency notes during the festive season, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for all citizens.
