Rana Sanaullah Calls for Pakistan to Stand as an Independent Nation Amid Afghanistan Crisis

Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has emphasized that Pakistan should stand firm as an independent nation, stating that previously there were claims that former PTI chairman would be released when Donald Trump came to power. He pointed out the irony that Trump’s praise has led to mixed reactions, with some pleased and others upset.

In a discussion on a private TV channel, Rana Sanaullah pointed out that the current situation in Afghanistan is the responsibility of the United States and Western countries, who should be standing behind Pakistan. He added that Pakistan is currently facing the brunt of the Afghanistan crisis, which is not a problem created by Pakistan.

Rana Sanaullah further stated that the threat of terrorism from Afghanistan could spread across the world, and Pakistan is at the forefront of fighting terrorism. He reiterated that Pakistan is engaged in a battle for its survival, with the nation sacrificing lives every day to combat terrorism.

Addressing the political situation, he mentioned that coalition parties and other institutions are working for the country’s betterment. He said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will continue to play his role as an opposition leader within the boundaries of the Constitution and the law. Rana Sanaullah also emphasized that the government is open to dialogue, stating that they have never rejected talks and are willing to sit down with anyone who has issues.

He also reaffirmed the strong relationship between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the government, stating that they have worked together to steer the country away from a potential default. Regarding water distribution, he clarified that, according to the 1991 agreement, each province has a designated share of water. Punjab, he assured, takes only its share and does not take even a drop of water from Sindh.
