Pakistan’s Trade Deficit Reaches $15.78 Billion in First 8 Months of FY 2024

Islamabad: Pakistan’s trade deficit for the first eight months of the current fiscal year (July to February) has reached $15.78 billion. Compared to the same period last year, the trade deficit has increased by 6.33%, as it was $14.84 billion during the same period in the previous year.

During these eight months, Pakistan’s exports amounted to $22.02 billion, while imports totaled $37.80 billion.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, exports in February saw a 17.35% decrease compared to January. In February, exports were valued at $2.43 billion. This decline reflects ongoing challenges in the country’s export sector.
