Pakistan’s Oil Tanker “Karachi” Passes Strait of Hormuz With Iran’s Approval

Tehran: Pakistan’s oil tanker, named “Karachi,” has successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz with special permission from Iran. The tanker is carrying over 8 crore liters of crude oil.

According to Bloomberg, the vessel’s passage via the Strait highlights the requirement of Iranian approval for ships using this route.

Geo News reported that two cargo ships, which had docked at Iranian ports, also used the same passage on Monday morning, sharing their locations publicly.

Ships navigating this new route require Tehran’s green signal. Several countries, including India and Turkey, have requested safe passage through Iranian waters. Meanwhile, insurance companies and banks are reportedly concerned about the rising risks associated with this corridor
