JUI Leaders Condemn Hakeem Ullah Haqqani’s Martyrdom, Call for Strong Action Against Terrorism

Quetta: The provincial leadership of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Senator Maulana Abdul Wasee and General Secretary Maulana Agha Mahmood Shah, strongly condemned the bomb attack at Jamia Haqqania, expressing their outrage over the cowardly terrorist act. In a joint statement, they stated that the terrorist attack at Darul Uloom Akora Khattak, which resulted in the martyrdom of Maulana Hamid al-Haq Haqqani, is a heinous crime, and the perpetrators are savage beasts who shed the blood of innocent scholars and students.
Maulana Wasee and Maulana Shah expressed that the martyrdom of Maulana Hamid al-Haq Haqqani is a great tragedy for the Muslim Ummah and a direct assault on knowledge and religion. They criticized the government’s criminal negligence, which has left the country at the mercy of terrorists. They emphasized that religious institutions are no longer safe under the current state of affairs.
They highlighted the exceptional character of Maulana Haqqani, calling him a fearless, respectable, patriotic leader, and a true servant of Islam. His martyrdom, they said, is an irreparable loss.
The leaders also questioned the state’s ability to protect its citizens, saying that it is unacceptable that mosques and seminaries are being drenched in blood, and that anti-Islamic forces are being given a free hand to carry out such attacks. They condemned the government and state institutions for their criminal negligence in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Pointing out the growing incidents of terrorism, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, they termed these attacks as part of a deep conspiracy aimed at eradicating religious education. The JUI leaders warned that the dreams of those who wish to extinguish the light of religious institutions would never be fulfilled, and that the schools of thought represented by these institutions would continue to burn bright, even in the face of such violence.
They called on the government to take immediate and effective action against terrorists, as the blood of innocent people cannot be tolerated any longer. Additionally, they urged JUI workers, scholars, and students to contribute to the treatment and aid of the injured, donate blood, and ensure that the sacrifices of the martyrs are never forgotten. They prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and the speedy recovery of the wounded.
