Jamaat-e-Islami to Lead Struggle for Rights, Justice, and Development in Balochistan
Quetta:Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch expressed deep concerns over the lack of solutions to Balochistan’s pressing issues at the national level. He stated that national parties and media have largely ignored the challenges faced by the people of Balochistan, including the growing dissatisfaction due to the oppressive behavior of security forces.
Addressing a gathering in Gwadar, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman criticized the government’s failure to tackle corruption and deliver developmental projects that would benefit the people of Balochistan. He highlighted that the lack of accountability has led to poor quality in developmental work, and that change can only come when the province’s resources are allocated for the benefit of its people. He also emphasized that until the issue of enforced disappearances and the opening of border trade are addressed, no meaningful change can take place in Balochistan.
He stated that the people of Balochistan, due to continued oppression, are deprived of their basic rights including access to education, healthcare, employment, and business opportunities. He specifically mentioned the state’s neglect of resources such as CPEC, Saindak, and Reko Diq, which are not benefiting the local population, due to the inefficiency and corruption of the ruling elites.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman criticized both the provincial and federal governments, as well as national media and political parties, for being complicit in the province’s backwardness, unemployment, poverty, and unresolved issues. He stated that instead of relying on weapons, check posts, and security forces, what the people of Balochistan truly need is education, development, peace, justice, and the assurance of their rights.
He further vowed that Jamaat-e-Islami would organize a massive rally in Quetta, bringing together one hundred thousand people to demand the return of resources, rights, and justice from the rulers, powerful elites, and enemies of the people. He also promised that his party would push for the recovery of missing persons, the dismantling of corrupt check posts, and the restoration of peace and prosperity in Balochistan.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman concluded by asserting that in the next two years, Jamaat-e-Islami will bring about significant change through its members in the assembly, and will continue to fight for the people’s rights and dignity until they achieve a just and prosperous Balochistan.
