Indian Cricketer Tilak Verma Sets Unique World Record in T20 Internationals

Indian cricketer Tilak Verma has set an extraordinary world record in T20 Internationals. Verma’s remarkable performance helped India clinch a thrilling 2-wicket victory over England in the second match of their five-match T20 series on Saturday in Chennai.

Chasing a target of 166 runs, India achieved the goal in the final over, thanks to a spectacular unbeaten 72-run knock from the left-handed batter. Verma faced 55 balls to remain not out, leading his team to a 2-0 lead in the series.

His 72-run innings not only secured the victory but also earned him a unique world record in T20 Internationals. Verma became the batter with the most runs scored in consecutive innings without getting out. Over his last four innings, he has accumulated a total of 318 runs without being dismissed, including two brilliant centuries.

Verma’s scores in his last four T20 innings are as follows: 72*, 19*, 120*, and 107*. In all these innings, he remained unbeaten.

Prior to this, the record for the most runs in consecutive T20 innings without being out was held by New Zealand’s Mark Chapman, who scored 271 runs without getting out in 2023.

The third T20 match of the series between India and England will take place on Tuesday.
