Balochistan Minister Pays Exam Fees After Clerk Lost Students’ Fees in Gambling

Quetta:Following a shocking incident in which a junior clerk at a government school in Zhob, Balochistan, lost students’ exam fees in a gambling bet, Provincial Minister Mir Ali Hassan Zehri has paid the required fees on behalf of the students.
Mir Ali Hassan Zehri deposited a total of PKR 24,16,800 for the students’ exam fees. The payment was made after concerns were raised regarding the possibility of students being unable to sit for their exams due to unpaid fees.
The junior clerk, Shehzad Jamal, had reportedly lost PKR 23,15,000 – the exam fees collected from 878 students of the 9th and 10th grades – in an online gambling game.
The police had filed a case in October last year following a complaint from the principal of Government Model Higher Secondary School Zhob, Wazir Khan. The junior clerk was arrested in connection with the incident.
After the incident, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri had assured that the fees would be paid, and he has now ensured the payment to the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education to prevent any further issues with the students’ exams.
