Pakistan’s IT Exports Reach Record High Despite Ongoing Internet Issues

Islamabad:Despite ongoing internet challenges in the country, Pakistan’s IT exports have reached their highest level in history. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, IT product exports in December 2024 amounted to a record $348 million, marking a 15% increase compared to December 2023.

In December 2023, Pakistan earned $303 million from the export of technology products. On a monthly basis, exports of IT products saw a 12% increase, as the figure in November 2024 stood at $310 million, which rose to $348 million in December.

During the first six months of the current fiscal year, technology exports saw a 28% increase compared to the same period last year. According to the State Bank, Pakistan earned $1.864 billion from the export of technology products in the first half of the fiscal year. This figure represents a 28% rise from the $1.456 billion earned during the same period last year.
