Democratic Control of US Congress Could End Trump’s Fast-Track Judicial Appointments

WASHINGTON: Democratic control of the US Congress could bring an end to the rapid pace of judicial appointments by President Donald Trump’s Republican Party.
According to the British news agency Reuters, Republicans had reshaped the federal judiciary by appointing conservative judges to federal courts.
Over the past two years, Republicans secured Senate approval for the appointment of 56 new judges, taking advantage of their majority in the upper chamber. The appointments are for lifetime terms.
Reuters reported that Democratic control of Congress could also increase the likelihood of a review of US military aid to Israel, as several candidates who campaigned against military assistance to Israel and the war with Iran won their elections.
Meanwhile, some Republicans have also made statements indicating that traditional Republican support for Israel could come under reconsideration.
