TikToker Mr Patlo Breaks Down in Tears After Sialkot Stampede, Appeals for Impartial Probe

SIALKOT:A video of popular TikToker Mr Patlo crying and expressing grief and helplessness has gone viral on social media following a stampede at his mehndi ceremony in Sialkot that claimed two lives and left dozens injured.

In the video, Mr Patlo says the footage could be his last, adding that he fears he may be killed or could take his own life. He claims that influential people who once maintained contact with him and used him have now abandoned him.

“I am currently alone in a village and unable to get out of bed or walk. That is why I cannot appear before the police. I have been nominated in the case,” he says.

Mr Patlo says he has always defended government policies and the state, but the unfortunate incident in Daska has now been blamed on him. He maintains that he had no personal involvement in the tragedy and had never imagined such a horrific incident could occur.

During the video, he appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Field Marshal Asim Munir and the country’s senior military and political leadership to order an impartial investigation into the incident.

He said he had risen from an extremely poor background and reached his current position through hard work, but his colleagues and influential associates had deserted him following the tragedy.

Mr Patlo said everyone attending the ceremony was his guest and that he had wanted to share his happiness with people from underprivileged backgrounds. However, he said he had not anticipated that the situation would take such a turn.

“If the law or justice demands it, I am ready to face any punishment, even death. I only appeal that the incident should not be given a misleading interpretation,” he said.

It may be recalled that thousands of people gathered at the mehndi ceremony of popular TikToker Anser Jutt, also known as Mr Patlo, after announcements of valuable prizes and large cash rewards.

The event attracted a huge crowd as organisers had announced a draw for various prizes, including cars and motorcycles. According to initial reports, after the entrance gates opened, people attempted to enter the venue simultaneously, triggering a stampede.

Several people fell to the ground under the pressure of the crowd, resulting in two deaths and injuries to dozens of others. Rescue teams provided first aid to the injured and shifted those in critical condition to hospitals.
