Historic Rally to Be Held on 2 December on Khan Shaheed’s Anniversary; Gas Missing but Rs18,000 Bills Are an Open Proof of Anti-People Attitude; KESCO and SSGC Sub-Offices Will Be Surrounded: PkMAP

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta): The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Quetta district has announced holding a grand public rally in Quetta on 2 December 2026 on the occasion of the 53rd martyrdom anniversary of Khan Shaheed Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai, and decided to make full preparations for its success. In this connection, a district committee meeting has been called for 1 November.

This decision was taken at a meeting of the PkMAP Quetta district executives, held at the central secretariat under the chairmanship of the party’s provincial senior vice president and Quetta district secretary Syed Sharaf Agha. The meeting paid tribute to Khan Shaheed Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai’s national, patriotic, political, democratic, literary and journalistic services, including his enduring sacrifices.

The meeting decided that the 1 November district committee meeting will determine the course of action regarding the public outreach campaign, publicity activities and formation of various committees for the public rally. In addition, dates will also be set for holding conferences of Sariab and Kuchlak tehsils.

The meeting stressed accelerating organisational activity and political activities, while directing inactive members to immediately activate their organisational and political activities. The meeting warned that in case of non-compliance with the directions, disciplinary action may be taken against the members concerned. The meeting was also attended by the party’s provincial office secretary Malik Umar Kakar and provincial liaison secretary Gul Khalji.

The meeting, expressing concern over unannounced and prolonged electricity load-shedding, complete outages and low-voltage issues in Quetta, said that consumers in most areas, apart from certain parts of the city, are facing difficulties. The statement also criticised the performance of KESCO sub-offices and demanded that senior officials take immediate notice of public complaints. The meeting decided that if the problems are not resolved, a party delegation will meet KESCO officials and present complaints with evidence.

The meeting also strongly criticised the Sui Southern Gas Company over excessive bills and low gas supply. According to the statement, some consumers using fewer than 25 to 100 units have been sent bills of more than Rs18,000, while significant differences have been found in the bills of different consumers despite the same level of low usage. The meeting demanded a review of the company’s billing procedure, meter reading and staff negligence, and the removal of difficulties faced by consumers.

The meeting also stressed ensuring complete and adequate gas supply with proper pressure before the winter season. The party warned that if the problems of gas and electricity load-shedding, outages and excessive bills are not resolved, protests will be held in front of the offices of the relevant companies.
