Islamabad Police's Conduct Exposes the Ugly Face of an Undemocratic System; Immediate Action Should Be Taken Against the Officials Involved: Statement
QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) Central General Secretary Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Central Finance Secretary Agha Syed Liaquat Ali and Provincial President Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, in a joint statement, have openly rejected and condemned in the strongest terms the unconstitutional, illegal, inhumane and unethical act of Islamabad police’s abduction-like arrest of Riaz Khan, special assistant to the great leader of the country’s democratic ranks, the beloved Chairman of PKMAP, head of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and national leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai, in front of F-10 Karachi Company, along with threats to strip him of his clothes and blackmail him.
The statement said that they have resorted to petty tactics to make them abandon the struggle for the restoration of the country’s constitution and democracy, the sovereignty of parliament, a true federation of equal nations, provincial autonomy, the restoration of the freedom of the judiciary and media, and the repeal of the black law of SIFC. The party rejects the Islamabad police’s unwarranted high-handed conduct, terms it a blatant violation of the country’s constitution and parliament, takes notice of the police’s unconstitutional and illegal action, and demands their immediate arrest and exemplary punishment.
The statement said that keeping in view the country’s and the region’s situation and the war-like environment, any unconstitutional, illegal and undemocratic action must be avoided. Governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emergency and undemocratic tactics regarding the release of Imran Khan have already caused great harm to the country through the trampling of the constitution, law, traditions and social values. To avoid further damage, adherence to the constitution, law and the democratic traditions of the federation is essential, and therefore action under the rules against the Islamabad F-10 police for their unwarranted action is imperative.
