Commissioner Rakhshan Division Asadullah Kakar Abducted Along With Driver Near Kharan, Balochistan

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — Unknown armed men have abducted Commissioner Rakhshan Division Asadullah Kakar along with his driver near Kharan district in Balochistan. The incident occurred near the same spot on the Nushki-Kharan road where Deputy Commissioner Kharan was abducted last month.
A senior official of the Kharan district administration and an officer of Kharan Police confirmed the incident on condition of anonymity. On the other hand, the provincial government has so far neither officially confirmed the incident nor issued any statement.
According to officials, on Thursday, Asadullah Kakar was travelling from Quetta to Kharan in his personal vehicle along with his driver and cashier, without a security squad. About 35 to 40 kilometres before Kharan, within the jurisdiction of Patkan police station at Brashunki, armed men stopped their vehicle at gunpoint.
Officials said the armed men took all three persons hostage; however, they later released the cashier, Haji Qasim, while they abducted the commissioner and the driver along with the vehicle and took them towards the mountains. After his release, Haji Qasim informed the police and relevant authorities about the incident.
Due to the deteriorating law and order situation and security concerns, the commissioner was travelling without police personnel or a security squad, and in a personal vehicle instead of an official one, so that his identity and travel could remain concealed.
