Gwadar Police Rescue 12 Kidnap Victims, Arrest Three Suspects in Raid

GWADAR: Gwadar City Police have rescued 12 people who were allegedly held hostage and arrested three suspects during a raid in the New Malaband area, officials said. Police also seized five vehicles during the operation.

According to police, the operation was carried out on the directives of DIG Makran Range Imran Qureshi and SSP Gwadar Ata-ur-Rehman.

The arrested suspects were identified as Nadir Shah, son of Qadir Dad Shah, originally from Awaran and currently residing in Gwadar; Abdul Majeed, son of Sher Muhammad, originally from Panjgur and residing in Gwadar; and Zaheeruddin Shah, son of Ata Muhammad Shah, originally from Awaran and currently living in Gwadar.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims, all from Punjab, had allegedly been lured to Gwadar with false promises of employment. After arriving, they were reportedly held captive while the suspects pressured their families to send money for their release.

Police said a case has been registered and further investigations are underway. Efforts are also continuing to arrest other individuals allegedly involved in the crime.

Gwadar Police reaffirmed their commitment to taking indiscriminate action against criminal elements to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
