Parties Nurtured in the Lap of Dictatorship Are Responsible for Balochistan’s Ruination: JUI Strongly Criticizes PPP and PML-N’s Style of Politics

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan Provincial Amir Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey and Provincial Secretary General Agha Mahmood Shah have said that political parties born in the lap of dictatorship are responsible for Balochistan’s ruination. According to them, these parties have prioritized personal interests instead of upholding democratic principles and the public mandate. In a joint statement, the leaders said that forces that take the name of democracy, whenever they felt their power was threatened, did not refrain from unconstitutional measures and political horse-trading to block the path of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. However, public awareness and ideological politics cannot be suppressed through administrative decisions and conspiracies for power.

They said that on the issue of governor’s rule in Balochistan, no fundamental difference is visible between the style of politics of the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Muslim League (N). Both parties claim democracy and the supremacy of the Constitution, but when faced with political interests, their practical actions raise questions. Instead of talking about extraordinary constitutional measures in a sensitive and backward province like Balochistan, priority should be given to resolving public problems, respecting the mandate of elected representatives, and stabilizing democratic institutions.

JUI Balochistan leaders said that their party’s politics is centered not on acquiring power but on public service, the supremacy of the Constitution, protection of parliamentary democracy, securing the people’s right over the province’s resources, and securing the rights of the deprived classes. They said that the people of Balochistan have long been facing unemployment, poverty, backwardness, lack of basic facilities, and law and order problems, and the solution to these problems lies not in political revenge or undemocratic experiments but in serious strategy, transparent governance, supremacy of merit, and fair use of public resources.
