Students and Government Employees May Get Three Consecutive Holidays in November

ISLAMABAD: Students and government employees across Pakistan may enjoy three consecutive holidays in November on the occasion of Allama Iqbal Day, depending on the official holiday notification.

November 9 is observed as the birth anniversary of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the national poet of Pakistan and the poet-philosopher who inspired the idea of Pakistan.

This year, November 9 falls on a Monday. If the public holiday is observed as scheduled, government employees who have weekends off could enjoy three consecutive days of holidays from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9.

Students may also benefit from the same three-day break if educational institutions remain closed over the weekend and on Iqbal Day.

However, the holiday arrangements will depend on the relevant official notifications issued by the authorities.
