Murad Saeed Is Currently in Afghanistan, Controlling KP Government, Claims Rana Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD: Federal Adviser on Political Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah has claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Murad Saeed is currently in Afghanistan and is allegedly controlling the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government from there.

Speaking to Geo News, Rana Sanaullah claimed that Murad Saeed had played a significant role in the appointment of Sohail Afridi as the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that PTI founder Imran Khan had not even known Sohail Afridi personally.

The federal adviser alleged that Sohail Afridi and Murad Saeed were primarily responsible for the failure of negotiations between the government and PTI.

He said, citing information reportedly available to some party members, that Murad Saeed had played a major role in securing Sohail Afridi’s appointment as chief minister.

Rana Sanaullah also referred to PTI’s claims regarding its planned political mobilisation, saying the target had initially been set at two million people before being raised to four million. He questioned the party’s statements about not knowing Murad Saeed’s whereabouts.

Munib Farooq Predicts Another Phase of Political Pressure on PTI

Meanwhile, journalist Munib Farooq has predicted that another phase of political pressure could emerge, potentially aimed at ending PTI’s political identity in its current form.

Speaking on his podcast, Farooq said another wave of political developments was likely, although its timing would be determined by the relevant decision-makers. He said it could emerge soon or after two months.

According to Farooq, PTI lawmakers could face pressure to distance themselves from Imran Khan and the party’s current political strategy if they wished to pursue what he described as politics free from confrontation.

He suggested that lawmakers could be encouraged to register a new political party and continue participating in mainstream politics independently of PTI’s existing leadership and policies.

Farooq said the possibility of efforts to dismantle PTI’s political identity could not be ruled out, arguing that the establishment’s reported position regarding the party had gained further prominence following recent political and security-related developments.

He also referred to allegations concerning the May 9 incidents and accused PTI of supporting elements involved in terrorism.

The claims made by Rana Sanaullah and Munib Farooq reflect their respective assessments of the ongoing political situation. The allegations regarding Murad Saeed’s location and influence over the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government were not independently verified in the statements provided.
