We Cannot Leave Quetta at the Mercy of Bandits; Strong Condemnation of the Harassment of Maulana Muhammad Shoaib Jadoon and Rising Lawlessness in the City: JUI

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) District Quetta Maulana Abdul Rahman Rafiq, Secretary General Haji Ainullah Shams, Senior Deputy Ameer Maulana Khurshid Ahmed, and other leaders have said that we cannot leave Quetta at the mercy of bandits and strongly condemn the harassment of Maulana Muhammad Shoaib Jadoon.
In their statement, the leaders said that the protection of people’s lives and property is the constitutional and legal responsibility of the government, but the rising incidents of crime in the city are a major question mark over government performance. They demanded that the humiliation of citizens at check posts, unjustified stopping, and harassment must be stopped immediately, while peaceful people of Aghbarg, Panjpai, Hana, Nohsar, and other areas should be spared from being unnecessarily harassed in the name of operations against terrorism, and the rights of the concerned tribes over their ancestral lands must be ensured.
JUI leaders, while demanding effective legal action against drug trafficking, brothels, illegal shisha points, and immoral activities in the city, said that saving the young generation from destruction is the fundamental responsibility of the government and administration. They also expressed serious concern over complaints of police, particularly the Eagle Squad, allegedly harassing students and youth at checkpoints and collecting bribes, and demanded action against responsible officials to protect the self-respect and fundamental rights of citizens.
