“CM Has Apologized So Much That Apologies Themselves Have Been Disgraced”: Maulana Abdul Wasey

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Provincial Ameer Maulana Abdul Wasey, addressing an important press conference in Quetta, strongly criticized the provincial government and said that the Chief Minister of Balochistan has apologized so many times that apologies themselves have now been disgraced.
Maulana Abdul Wasey said that Senator Shaukat Ghibizai and Member Balochistan Assembly Haji Zabid Reki are placed on the ECL (Exit Control List), and then the government tenders an apology — a conduct that is completely beyond comprehension. He raised the question of whether the Balochistan government and the Chief Minister are either completely powerless or whether all decisions are being made in installments. He said that no practical action is being taken against the officials against whom action should be taken under the law, and that serious matters cannot be resolved merely by apologizing.
Speaking on the issue of madrasas, he recalled that the Chief Minister had also apologized over the matter of madrasa registration; however, the government has still not informed of any clear progress in this regard. Criticizing the government over the minerals law, he said that the government deceived the opposition on this matter — an announcement was later made to withdraw the bill, but the problem remains exactly as it was. He said that the opposition and all political parties had prepared and submitted a comprehensive draft on minerals by mutual consensus, yet no improvement came about in the matter.
The JUI provincial chief made it clear that if the government does not show seriousness on the issues of madrasas and the minerals act, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will be forced to decide its future course of action together with other like-minded political parties, and the present Balochistan government will not be tolerated any further.
During the press conference, he also raised strong objections to the alleged presence of a “private militia” in Balochistan and demanded that this private militia be sent back immediately. Maulana Abdul Wasey reiterated his resolve that the real owners of this country are the people and the politicians, not the rulers. He announced that he will begin a detailed tour of Balochistan from November 17 and will go to the people to fight for their rights.
