President Zardari, PM Shehbaz to hold key meeting today to discuss national matters

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are expected to hold an important meeting at the President’s House today to discuss key decisions.
As per reports, the meeting will review the country’s overall political situation, law and order, and, in particular, the political and administrative situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The two leaders are expected to discuss the country’s challenges and other key national matters. Possible constitutional options, including imposing governor’s rule in KP, may also be discussed.
Moreover, the meeting is also expected to cover a proposal for talks with the opposition, particularly the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), as well as a joint government strategy to address opposition protests and other political activities.
The development follows Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the country’s political and security situation, including the situation in KP.
However, the prime minister and interior minister had also met in Lahore a day earlier, while the latest meeting followed the reported failure of government talks with PTI.
