What Happened at the Negotiation Table? Major Revelations from Hamid Mir’s Inside Story

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Senior journalist and analyst Hamid Mir has made extremely important and sensational revelations about the inside story of the negotiations between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. According to him, during the negotiations, the stance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi was absolutely clear, and he was not opposed to any kind of flexibility in this matter, provided contact with his leader was made possible.

In this regard, speaking on a TV program, Hamid Mir revealed that during the negotiations, Sohail Afridi, sitting in front of Mohsin Naqvi, called his leader and told him that “these people themselves go again and again and tell sometimes Shehbaz Sharif and sometimes Zardari Sahib, but they do not let us talk to Imran Khan. If Imran Khan approves the draft, I have no objection.”

The senior journalist said that the impression that Sohail Afridi is an emotional young man making immature decisions is not correct at all. He is well aware that at this critical political juncture, he could even be disqualified or arrested, but despite this, there is intense public pressure on him. If, at this delicate moment, acting with wisdom, the process of direct talks with Sohail Afridi is restored, then even now some way could be found to save the country from a major confrontation and chaos.
