Houthi Drone Strike Hits Power Station Serving Prophet’s Mosque in Medina

Riyadh (Qudrat): Houthi militia have attacked a power plant in Medina, targeting the Tayba Power Station with a drone strike. The station is a key facility supplying electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid an-Nabawi). Several transformers were shut down after the attack.
According to media reports, a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition said the Houthis targeted the Tayba station with a drone at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The terrorist attack knocked out a service transformer.
Al-Akhbar Al-Saudi reported that the Houthi militia carried out a fresh attack on the sacred land of Medina, striking the Tayba Power Station with a drone.

Coalition spokesman Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki said evidence had been found of the planning and execution of the Houthi attack on the station. Although a service transformer was disabled, alternative arrangements are in place to maintain power supply to the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.
The spokesman described the strike as a cowardly act forming part of continued attempts to target holy sites and inflame the feelings of millions of Muslims. He said the security of pilgrims and visitors would be ensured.
In a statement, the Saudi-led coalition spokesman said investigations showed that electricity installations in Medina had been deliberately targeted. He said the Houthis’ cowardly attacks were an attempt to violate the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and that strikes on sacred places had wounded the sentiments of Muslims.
