Alleged Forced Displacement and Return of Refugees in Afghanistan Alarming; Rights Are Being Denied: Leaders

Quetta (Daily Quwat Quetta): Leaders of the Hazara Democratic Party, while congratulating the Hazara nation settled around the world on the 13th Global Hazara Solidarity Day, have said that with every new day the Hazara nation faces new challenges and problems, and it is now the responsibility of the new generation to confront the circumstances and play its role in taking the nation forward towards knowledge, development and modern technology.

These views were expressed by Chairman Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Central Information Secretary Qadir Nail, Central Organising Secretary Dad Changezi, Central Deputy Secretary General Ismat Yari, Central Council members Muhammad Zaman Dehqanzada, Seema Batool, Hazara Students Federation General Secretary Murtaza Sultan and District President Dr Sakhi while addressing a public gathering held at Hazara Town Ground.

The speakers said that in the era of artificial intelligence, modern technology and technical education, vast opportunities exist for young people to express their capabilities. According to them, in the present era, capability and competence are important, therefore the new generation should pay full attention to acquiring modern education and technical skills.

Party leaders said that the Hazara nation has long been facing problems and threats of various kinds. According to them, the Hazara nation in Afghanistan faces alleged forced displacement, deprivation of basic civil and human rights and other difficulties, while due to the circumstances, a large number of people belonging to the Hazara and other nations have been forced to migrate and seek refuge in various countries.

The speakers said that a large number of Hazara refugees have long been settled in Indonesia and various migrant camps around the world and are awaiting asylum. According to them, the actions of some countries to send refugees back are also a cause of concern, and the safety and protection of human rights of such people must be ensured.

The leaders said that the Hazara nation has also faced religious extremism and various internal problems. According to them, certain elements linked national interests to personal or group interests, due to which the nation faced difficulties in adopting a unified direction. They urged the new generation and national leadership to promote unity and mutual consultation by prioritising collective interests.

Expressing their position regarding Pakistan’s political situation, the speakers said that the country faces political, economic and social problems, and the solution to Balochistan’s problems should be sought through consultation with genuine political, public, national and tribal leadership. They stressed starting a negotiation process in a conducive environment to resolve the issues.

The leaders of the Hazara Democratic Party, while paying tribute to the Hazara individuals martyred during the past two decades, also appreciated the peaceful protest held by the Hazara nation in more than 36 cities of the world on 1 October 2012. They expressed the hope that the Hazara nation will continue to highlight its issues in the future through unity, solidarity and a globally organised voice.
