Give Balochistan Peace, End Unjust Taxes and Extortion on Petrol: Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch
Border trade should be restored and missing persons recovered; a signature campaign has been launched to get public demands accepted
Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch has said: give Balochistan peace, accept public demands, end unjust taxes and extortion on petrol, restore border trade, provide employment and education opportunities to the youth, recover missing persons, and release political workers. Providing basic rights, peace, and dignified employment to the people is the responsibility of the state and the government. A signature campaign has been launched across Balochistan for these demands; the general public, including the youth, should participate fully in this signature campaign. District amirs and office-bearers should intensify the campaign in all areas. He expressed these views while speaking during meetings with various delegations in Quetta.
He said that the people of Balochistan have long been facing various problems, including unrest, unemployment, economic difficulties, and the closure of highways and borders. Instead of policies that increase public difficulties, serious measures should be taken for permanent solutions to the problems.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch said that instead of giving relief to the people on petrol, unnecessary collections at various departments and checkposts should be eliminated, and border trade should be made legal and easy so that the livelihoods of thousands of families remain linked to it. The youth should be provided employment and quality education opportunities, because the future of Balochistan is linked to the younger generation.
He said that the issue of missing persons should be resolved on humanitarian and constitutional grounds, and justice should be provided to all citizens, including political workers, in accordance with the law. The government and concerned institutions should take practical measures to resolve public issues; Balochistan’s problems will not be solved by mere announcements.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan will continue to raise its voice for peace, public rights, employment, education, legal border trade, and civil liberties, and will continue its constitutional and democratic struggle for the achievement of public demands.
