People of Quetta Completely Deprived of Basic Facilities Like Clean Drinking Water, Health, Education, and Drainage; Government Claims Proved Mere Paperwork: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — A meeting of the District Executive of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party District Quetta was held at the party’s central secretariat under the chairmanship of Provincial Senior Vice President and District Quetta Secretary Syed Sharaf Agha. Provincial Deputy Secretary Iqbal Khan Batezai participated in the meeting. The meeting considered the organizational and political situation of District Quetta and the conferences of the tehsils of District Quetta, and in this regard, the second meeting of the District Executive was summoned for Wednesday, September 30, at 3 pm.

The meeting was told that party workers will have to work day and night to resolve the problems of the people of Quetta. The public is facing numerous basic problems, prominent among which are the supply of clean water, shortage of electricity and gas, traffic pressure, dilapidated roads, sanitation, drainage, and the lack of health and education facilities. Due to these problems, the daily life of the common citizen is being severely affected.

The statement said that unannounced load-shedding of electricity has made the lives of citizens miserable. Despite the change of season, the ongoing load-shedding of gas and electricity is nothing but the public enmity of KESCO and Sui Southern Gas Company. The meeting was told that the availability of clean drinking water in the city is a major issue. The need is to secure the existing water sources, start new schemes, and ensure the fair distribution of water. Similarly, an effective system should be established to improve the supply of electricity and gas, end unnecessary load-shedding, and promptly address citizens’ complaints.

The meeting was told that the improvement of Quetta’s roads, streets, and drainage system also requires immediate attention. To resolve the growing traffic problems in the city, effective traffic management, proper parking facilities, and the construction and repair of roads are necessary. Along with improving the sanitation system, permanent and effective arrangements should be made for the proper disposal of garbage.

Similarly, expressing regret over the slow pace of construction of various roads, emphasis was laid on quality construction at the earliest. All members of the District Executive were strictly directed to attend the September 30 meeting on time.
