Artificial Arrangement of Seasonal Birds and Paratroopers Has Destroyed Balochistan’s Economic and Developmental Foundations: Maulana Abdul Wasey

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Addressing a large public gathering at Tui Batozai Dam, Qila Saifullah, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan Ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey said that the public services and developmental initiatives of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam are still clearly visible in every corner and across the length and breadth of Balochistan. Tui Batozai Dam, Qila Saifullah, is a historic and revolutionary project that changed the fate of the area by making hundreds of thousands of acres of barren land cultivable, laying the foundation for an agricultural revolution in the region and securing the economic future of thousands of families. He said that if, rising above political bias, personal interests, and the politics of hatred, priority were given to public welfare, collective interest, and the development of the province, then projects of a similar nature with far-reaching results could be started in every constituency of Balochistan.
He said that the JUI representatives of the people of Qila Saifullah have fulfilled the trust of their resources as honest custodians, which is why today there are countless developmental projects in various districts of Balochistan whose benefits the public is directly enjoying. The leadership of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and its representatives reach the halls of power as indebted to the people, which is why they are answerable not to any individual, group, or power but to their own people. Those who reached the halls of power through seasonal birds, political paratroopers, and artificial representation caused irreparable damage to Balochistan’s collective interests and weakened the province’s economic and developmental foundations.
Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey said that despite limited resources and a brief period in power, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam gave Balochistan such mega projects that are still prominent in terms of their utility and importance. But regrettably, after these projects, that continuity of development could not be maintained, and several projects remain stalled today at the very point where they were left.
He said, “Even today we say loud and clear that the claim of true representation of the majority people of Balochistan is the right of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam alone, and the party that protects public resources with trust and honesty is also JUI. Even today, the unwavering trust of the people is associated with the leadership of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and its political struggle.”
He said that by imposing unpopular, unpublic, and artificial representatives in place of the true public mandate of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Balochistan’s journey of development was halted. The political uncertainty, anxiety, and hysteria that have now emerged in the province have among their root causes the allegations of engineered elections and the questions raised over the public mandate.
The workers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and the people of Balochistan are awaiting their leadership’s future course of action; however, we make clear that we will in no way abandon the struggle to protect our constitutional, democratic, and political rights, and will continue to raise a strong voice on every constitutional and democratic forum for the defence of the people’s right of representation, right to vote, and true political mandate.
