World Cannot Look Away from What Is Happening in Pakistan, Says Kasim Khan
LONDON: Kasim Khan, son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has strongly criticized the reported arrests of his family members and urged the international community to take notice of alleged human rights violations in Pakistan.
In a post on social media platform X, Kasim alleged that his paternal aunt, Aleema Khan, had been unlawfully arrested in Lahore and taken to an undisclosed location. He said the family had not been informed about her whereabouts and that her relatives and legal team had been denied access to her.
Kasim accused the government of acting contrary to democratic principles, alleging that people were being abducted, families were being harassed, and human rights and the rule of law were being undermined.
“First they put my father, Imran Khan, in jail, and now they are targeting his family and relatives,” he said.
Today, my aunt, Aleema Khan, has been abducted by police in Lahore. Our family has been told nothing about where she has been taken. Her family and lawyers cannot reach her.

He demanded that his family and legal team be given immediate and uninterrupted access to Aleema Khan, that authorities disclose her whereabouts and that she be released.
Aleema Khan was detained in Lahore for 30 days under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) law following an order issued by the Lahore deputy commissioner. The detention came ahead of PTI’s planned September 27 protest and march to Islamabad.
Kasim also alleged that his other aunts, Dr Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, along with relatives, had been taken away without explanation. Dawn reported that PTI made similar allegations regarding the detention of Uzma and Noreen, while Kasim described the actions as an “abduction.”
Concluding his statement, Kasim appealed to the international community, saying that the world could not continue to ignore what he described as severe repression and injustice in Pakistan.
