Sub-National Polio Vaccination Campaign Begins Across Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: A sub-national polio vaccination campaign has begun today across selected districts of Pakistan, with 31 million children set to receive polio drops.
More than 273,000 polio workers are participating in the campaign across 115 selected districts of the country.
In Punjab, 10.6 million children will be administered polio drops in 13 selected districts, while 10 million children will be vaccinated in 30 selected districts of Sindh.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 7.3 million children will receive polio drops across 37 selected districts. In Balochistan, the campaign is being conducted in 32 selected districts, where 2.3 million children will be vaccinated, including 447,000 children specifically targeted for polio vaccination in the province.
Meanwhile, 137,000 children will receive polio drops in two selected districts of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Parents have been urged to fully cooperate with polio vaccination teams to ensure a healthy future for their children. Polio workers continue to reach households across the country, even in challenging circumstances, to protect every child from the crippling disease.
Parents have been advised to ensure that every child under the age of five receives polio drops during the campaign.
