57-Year-Old Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Cars Outside Karachi Mosques

KARACHI:Police have arrested a 57-year-old man accused of stealing vehicles outside mosques in Karachi while posing as a worshipper, according to the Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC).
The suspect was identified as 57-year-old Insaf, the ACLC said.
According to police, the suspect allegedly committed his first vehicle theft in 2000 and had remained involved in car thefts for years.
Police said the suspect would allegedly steal vehicles from Karachi and transport them to Quetta and other parts of Balochistan, where they were sold.
The ACLC said the suspect was recently spotted allegedly stealing a vehicle outside a mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
Police said a criminal record dating back 23 years had also emerged against the suspect. He was reportedly wanted in connection with more than 15 cases.
Further investigation is underway, while police are examining the suspect’s alleged involvement in other vehicle theft cases.
