Two Innocent Children Drown in Flash Floods After Torrential Rain in Spin Tangi Union Council Babian-2, Harnai

Harnai (Qudrat Daily) — Two innocent children drowned after being swept away in flash flood torrents following torrential rain in the area of Spin Tangi Union Council Babian-2, Harnai.

Torrential rain occurred in the Torgorha Daddra area of Spin Tangi Union Council Babian-2 during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, due to which high-level flash flood torrents flowed through streams and rivulets. The flood torrent entered a house belonging to the Marri tribe near the stream and swept away two small innocent children.

The deceased include one boy and one girl, whose bodies were recovered from the bank of the stream in the area of Spin Tangi Babian Kali Sahni.

Due to heavy rain and flash flood torrents, large-scale damage was caused to agricultural lands, houses, and protective embankments in Union Council Babian-2.

The innocent children who were swept away in the flood torrents were buried in the local graveyard of Babian.

Provincial Minister for Food Haji Noor Muhammad Khan Damar and District Focal Person Haji Baz Muhammad Khan Damar expressed deep sorrow and regret over the death of two innocent children of the Marri tribe due to torrential rain and devastating floods in Torgorha Daddra.

The Provincial Minister said, “We share equally in the grief of the affected family. We will not leave the victims alone in this difficult hour, and all possible measures will be taken for their rehabilitation.”

He directed the district administration to immediately visit the affected area, assess the damages, provide all possible assistance to the victims, and conduct a survey of life and property losses and submit a report.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Union Council Babian-2, Shadad Khan, said that the devastating flood that came after the heavy downpour during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday caused large-scale destruction. Several houses were swept away in the flood torrents, while agricultural lands and standing crops were also severely damaged.

Chairman Shadad Khan demanded from Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Provincial Minister for Food Haji Noor Muhammad Khan Damar, DG PDMA, Commissioner Loralai Division, and Deputy Commissioner Harnai that the life and property losses caused by rain and floods in Babian-2 be immediately addressed and emergency measures be taken for the rehabilitation of the affected people.
