Elements Fueling Division and Linguistic Bias Among Tribes in Balochistan Will Be Strongly Discouraged: Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey

Quetta – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Provincial Amir Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey and General Secretary Maulana Agha Mahmood Shah, in a joint statement, have said that the current situation in the country, especially in Balochistan, demands that political parties and all segments of society promote political tolerance, forbearance, and civility, because the lack of tolerance, accommodation, and mutual respect in politics is what gives rise to further problems, unrest, and hatred in society.

They said that whether it is an attempt to create division among tribes and nations within Balochistan or an effort to fuel linguistic bias and prejudice at the inter-provincial level, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will raise its voice strongly against all forms of hatred, division, and prejudice. Balochistan is a beautiful blend of different tribes, nations, languages, and cultures, and respecting all tribes and nations is a shared responsibility of all of us. Our strongest bond is the bond of Islam and Pakistan, under which all citizens are equal and worthy of respect.

They said that in different periods, different actors have emerged who have continued to fuel hatred, hostility, and mutual distance for their own interests. However, the demand of the times is that such elements should be discouraged, and instead of making problems more complex, serious, consistent, and result-oriented efforts should be made to resolve them.

JUI leaders said that the country is currently not only suffering from unrest and political uncertainty, but economic difficulties have also increased to an extraordinary extent. People are facing inflation, unemployment, and basic problems, while in Balochistan, the law and order situation, employment, trade, education, and development issues also demand immediate attention. In such circumstances, instead of confrontation, blame-gaming, and the politics of hatred, all political forces must adopt a unified course of action in the national interest.

They said that the stability of the democratic system, the supremacy of the Constitution and law, political dialogue, and the resolution of the people’s real problems are the effective way to bring the country out of its current crises.

Meanwhile, Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey and Maulana Agha Mahmood Shah expressed deep sorrow and regret over the passing of Senator Naseebullah Bazai, saying that with his death, Balochistan has been deprived of a sincere, active, talented, and prudent political and social personality. Senator Naseebullah Bazai rendered prominent services at the parliamentary, political, social, and tribal levels, and his long political and public services will always be viewed with appreciation. The void created by his passing cannot be easily filled.

They expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family and survivors of the deceased and prayed that Allah Almighty grant the deceased a high place in His mercy, forgive him, and grant patience to all the mourners.
