BYD’s Local Assembly Plant in Pakistan in Final Stages of Construction, to Be Ready in Second Half of 2026

Karachi (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — The local assembly plant of BYD and Mega Motor Company will be ready in the second half of 2026. The new New Energy Vehicles assembly plant being built by BYD-Mega Motor Company in Gharo has reached the final stages of construction. The installation and testing of machinery and other equipment at the plant is underway. According to the company, the plant will commence operations in the second half of 2026.

The plant has been constructed in less than 18 months, which is among the fastest construction progress for vehicle manufacturing projects of this scale in Pakistan.

Before starting large-scale vehicle production, complete testing of machinery, trial production of vehicles, and quality checks will be carried out at the plant. The purpose of this process is to ensure that the vehicles produced at the plant meet BYD’s global standards.

After the completion of all these stages, BYD-MMC will formally begin local vehicle manufacturing and assembly. The company will also ensure that production quality is maintained and uniformity is established in vehicle manufacturing.
