PTI Leaders Face Faster Enforcement of Warrants Following Hamad Azhar’s Arrest

ISLAMABAD: Authorities have decided to expedite the enforcement of previously issued warrants against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders wanted in various cases following the arrest of Hamad Azhar.
According to sources, PTI leaders facing judicial warrants in connection with various cases, including the November 2024 D-Chowk protest, are likely to be arrested.
Sources said warrants already issued against Junaid Akbar and Abdul Ghani in cases related to the D-Chowk protest will be enforced. Judicial warrants issued against Shibli Faraz, Murad Saeed and Hamad Azhar in Judicial Complex cases will also be acted upon.
Zartaj Gul, Aamir Masood Mughal, Dr Amjad Ali and Meena Khan Afridi are also among the PTI leaders wanted in different cases registered in Islamabad.
According to sources, authorities have also decided to proceed with legal action against Ali Amin Gandapur and Umar Tanveer Butt in the Faizabad protest case.
Sources said any potential arrests of PTI leaders would be based on previously registered FIRs and judicial warrants issued in the past.
Islamabad Police has been directed to enforce, in accordance with the law, judicial warrants issued against PTI leaders wanted in cases registered at various police stations.
