Armed Men Attack Police Stations in Bagh, Three Attackers Killed in Clashes

QUETTA: Armed men reportedly entered Bagh city in Balochistan’s Bolan district early in the morning and attacked police stations and other government facilities, with three attackers reportedly killed and several passersby injured during the ensuing clashes.
According to sources, the armed men entered Bagh at around 6 a.m., set up roadblocks at various locations and launched attacks on the City Police Station, Saddar Police Station and a bank.
Police and Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF) personnel launched a counter-operation after receiving information about the attacks. According to sources, three attackers were killed and several passersby were reportedly injured during the exchange of fire.
Sources said the attackers also vandalized police stations, the National Bank and the Assistant Commissioner’s office and set government records on fire.
SHO Abdul Rasool Jatoi said police and ATF personnel responded promptly after being informed of the incident and successfully repelled the attack.
According to sources, intense firing between police, security forces and the armed men continued for nearly two hours following the attack, creating panic and fear among residents of Bagh.
Sources further said that parts of the National Bank were also set on fire during the firing, while motorcycles parked at the Assistant Commissioner’s office and Bagh Sub-Jail were also torched.
Further details regarding the identities of the attackers, the exact number of injured people and the extent of damage were not immediately available.
