Actor Sohail Sameer Apologizes Over Viral Inappropriate Video Clip
LAHORE: Pakistani actor Sohail Sameer has apologized to his fans over an inappropriate video clip that recently went viral on social media and offered an explanation regarding the footage.
The clip, which began circulating widely on social media a few days ago, showed the actor alongside a female actress. The footage was actually part of scenes from a film, but the content sparked strong reactions from social media users.
Following the controversy, several users criticized the actor, while some expressed disappointment over his choice of work. Sohail Sameer subsequently issued a statement on social media, apologizing to everyone who felt hurt, upset or disappointed by the viral clip.
The actor clarified that the clip was approximately 10 years old.
Sohail Sameer said that at the time, he may not have realized that something from his past could resurface in this manner. However, after the clip went viral again, he said he realized that he also has a mother, sisters and daughters in his family and reflected on how he would feel if similar material involving one of his own family members surfaced.
He said he was genuinely ashamed and regretted that he should not have participated in such content, regardless of the circumstances at the time.
The actor acknowledged his mistake and said that building respect takes years, while losing it can happen in a moment. He expressed deep remorse and appealed to his followers to forgive him.
