Murtaza Wahab Denies Reports of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s Engagement and Marriage

KARACHI:Karachi Mayor and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s spokesperson Barrister Murtaza Wahab has denied reports circulating on social media claiming that Bilawal Bhutto is engaged and plans to get married by the end of this year.

Social media reports had claimed that Bilawal Bhutto’s engagement had been arranged with a prominent personality from Vaduz, the capital of the small European country of Liechtenstein, or with a woman associated with the Austrian royal family.

The reports also claimed that President Asif Ali Zardari had traveled to Europe with his family to finalize the date and other arrangements for the marriage.

However, the PPP spokesperson rejected all such reports and rumors as completely baseless.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Murtaza Wahab said the reports regarding Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s engagement or marriage were “completely false and baseless.”

Bilawal Bhutto has previously responded openly and humorously to questions from journalists about his personal life and marriage plans.

During the 2024 United Nations General Assembly session, a journalist asked him about his plans to get married. Smiling, Bilawal said that he certainly planned to get married, but did not disclose any specific date.

Earlier, during an interview in 2016, Bilawal had said that whoever became his life partner would first have to win the hearts of his sisters and take them into confidence. He had humorously remarked that winning his sisters’ hearts would be an extremely difficult task for any woman.

The PPP has reiterated that there is no truth in the reports concerning Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s marriage and urged the public and media not to rely on unverified information.
