Ishaq Dar Holds Talks with Saudi, Turkish Foreign Ministers on Regional Situation, Upcoming R4 Meeting

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, discussing the evolving regional situation, matters of mutual interest and the upcoming R4 meeting.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Ishaq Dar congratulated him on the consensus election of Mauritanian diplomat Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed as the new Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).


The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on the regional situation and other matters of mutual interest. Issues related to the upcoming R4 meeting were also discussed.

The two leaders agreed to maintain close contact and continue consultations on regional and diplomatic matters.

Later, Ishaq Dar also spoke by telephone with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. According to the Foreign Office, the two ministers reviewed the evolving regional situation and discussed issues of common interest.


They also exchanged views on upcoming diplomatic engagements, including the forthcoming R4 meeting.

The Foreign Ministry said Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye continue to maintain close consultations on regional issues. The discussions between Ishaq Dar and his Saudi and Turkish counterparts focused on further strengthening coordination and cooperation in light of recent regional developments.
