Woman arrested for allegedly torturing minor domestic worker in Lahore

LAHORE: Police have arrested a woman in Lahore’s Sunder area for allegedly torturing a minor domestic worker, according to a spokesperson for the DIG Operations.
The case was registered after reports of abuse against a young domestic helper, identified as Iman Fatima. Officials said the incident FIR was lodged at Sunder Police Station on the complaint of the child’s grandmother, under case number 1671/26.
According to the FIR, the house owner, identified as Anam, allegedly tortured the minor after falsely accusing her of theft. The victim was found with visible injury marks on her body, arms, and near her eyes.
Police acted promptly and arrested the suspect. Evidence has also been collected and investigation into the case has been initiated.
The spokesperson for DIG Operations stated that the victim child is being provided legal protection and justice, while the accused has been handed over to the Investigation Wing for further questioning.
DIG Operations said that violence against children, women, and abuse of domestic workers will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He added that Lahore Police is strictly implementing a zero-tolerance policy to protect vulnerable and helpless individuals.
