28th Defence Review Meeting Co-Chaired by CM and Commander Quetta Corps; Decision to Activate Safe City Project in Phases
QUETTA: The 28th Defence and Review Meeting on the overall situation, law and order, development process and public welfare in Balochistan was held in Quetta, jointly chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Commander Quetta Corps.
The meeting conducted a detailed review of the province’s overall situation, peace and stability, progress on development projects, public welfare initiatives and coordinated measures among federal and provincial institutions.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to Balochistan’s bright future, timely completion of development projects and provision of better facilities to the people.
The meeting also discussed further measures to make joint efforts by provincial and federal institutions and security forces more effective, improve coordination and cooperation, and safeguard the broader interests of the province.
During the meeting, an in-principle decision was taken to activate the Safe City Project in phases in Quetta and other important areas of Balochistan. Participants described the initiative as an important step toward improving public safety, surveillance systems and the effective use of modern technology.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said the Defence and Review Meeting was being held regularly and had produced positive results in terms of peace and stability in the province.
He said the meeting, held every three weeks, primarily aimed to review implementation of decisions taken during previous sessions, identify challenges and adopt a coordinated strategy to address them.
The chief minister said regular meetings had improved coordination among institutions and ensured continuity in measures aimed at maintaining peace and stability.
Sarfraz Bugti said sustainable peace, development and public prosperity in Balochistan were closely interconnected. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability, completing development projects on time and providing basic facilities to the people.
He stressed that all relevant institutions would have to perform their responsibilities effectively for Balochistan’s bright future and avoid unnecessary delays in implementing projects aimed at public welfare.
Representatives of federal and provincial institutions, various departments and security forces attended the meeting. Participants held detailed discussions on the province’s law and order situation, ongoing measures and the future course of action.
During the meeting, security forces were also praised for their professional performance and sacrifices during successful intelligence-based operations against terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan this month.
Participants appreciated the security forces’ resolve and effective operations against terrorism and emphasized the need for greater coordination in ongoing efforts to establish peace.
The meeting agreed to further strengthen coordination and mutual cooperation among federal and provincial institutions and security forces for peace, development and public prosperity in Balochistan.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to utilizing all available resources to protect the lives and property of the people, promote peace and stability, accelerate development and improve public welfare across the province.
