FBR Raids Cigarette Factory in Mardan, Seizes 62 Cartons of Illegal Cigarettes and Shuts Plant

Mardan — The **Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)** conducted a raid on a cigarette factory in Mardan, seizing **62 cartons of illegal cigarettes** and sealing the facility.

According to FBR sources cited by Geo News, the **Inland Revenue team** carried out the operation after discovering that taxes on the confiscated cigarettes had not been paid. Legal action has been initiated against the factory owners.

Local sources revealed that the sealed factory belongs to **Senator Dilawar Khan**. Despite political pressure, authorities proceeded with the operation in line with **Prime Minister’s directives** to crack down on illegal cigarette manufacturing, with no tolerance for external influence.

Senator Dilawar Khan, however, claimed that he was not in the village at the time of the raid and stated that he had no knowledge of the factory being raided.

The FBR has emphasized that operations against factories producing illegal cigarettes will continue across the country to ensure compliance with tax laws.
