US Likely to Exclude Pakistan from New Travel Ban List

Karachi: Pakistan is unlikely to be included in the new list of countries facing potential travel restrictions by the United States. A final announcement is expected on March 13, with 12 countries potentially being affected by the travel ban. In this regard, Pakistani diplomatic staff and key figures in the US remain optimistic.

Sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the Indian-American lobby has been heavily involved in spreading negative propaganda against Pakistan. Additionally, a group of Pakistani-American doctors has also been accused of engaging in conspiracies.

However, recent developments have brought a shift in relations between the Trump administration and Pakistan. The arrest and subsequent extradition of a dangerous terrorist, wanted by the US, has led to a closer relationship between the Trump administration and Pakistan’s establishment.

According to sources, discussions between Pakistani officials and the Trump administration have heavily focused on the issue of travel restrictions. Diplomatic sources suggest that the US is expected to ease travel restrictions on Pakistani citizens.

However, under the Trump administration’s policy, Pakistani women traveling to the US for childbirth may face stringent scrutiny at US airports, and such cases may be discouraged. Additionally, Pakistani individuals holding work and student visas will undergo more thorough background checks upon arrival in the US.

Moreover, new travel advisories could be issued for airlines flying from Pakistan to the US.
